The MMI SP2000 Mini Planetarium is designed to foster an early interest in Astronomy and Space Science for kids (and adults!) of all ages. We hope that after experiencing and working with the SP2000, that users will be encouraged to go further, and to learn more about astronomy and be encouraged to visit their local planetarium or Science Center. Here is what you can do with it:
The SP2000 projects the night sky’s Stars, Constellations and Milky Way onto the walls and ceiling of a medium sized room, allowing viewers to explore the night sky indoors.
+ Set latitude, date and time to see the night sky as it actually appears locally or anywhere in the world.
+ Sky globe rotates at selectable slow or fast speed to demonstrate the movement of the stars throughout the night.
+ Hand held remote control enables user to control projection light level (low or high), speed of sky rotation (slow or fast) and direction of sky movement (clockwise or counterclockwise, to enable easy control of sky movement and positioning of stars.
+ Product includes: Planetarium globe with internal light and base, remote control, 110 V AC power cord (converter) and quick start guide.
